          massive media exposure of Russian financial machinations in the US in
          August of last year, published a <em>de facto</em> retraction in
          January of this year, suggesting that the New York Times and other
          press may have been drawing tainted information from&nbsp; Zeltser who
          is one of the attorneys in a class action against BoNY.</font></p>
          <p align="justify"><font size="3">Today's Times front page article by
          Raymond Bonner and Timothy O'Brien (</font>Guilty Pleas Seen in the
          Laundering of Russian Money, NY Times, 02/15/00) <font size="3">reported
          that t</font>wo major suspects in the federal investigation, Lucy
          Edwards, a former senior officer at the Bank of New York, and her
          husband, Peter Berlin, agreed to plead guilty to the money laundering
          charges and will surrender to the authorities today.</p>
